SANCTUARY KITCHEN

On November 6th, Aminah Alsaleh from Sanctuary Kitchen presented an amazing lunch for the SSILL membership and some guests.  Aminah is the Assistant Kitchen Manager at Sanctuary Kitchen.

The food was a big hit, most of the dishes were Middle Eastern dishes.  Aminah is from Syria, and her story is quite amazing.  She came to the United States to flee the war.   When she got here, she first had to learn the English language, which she has managed to do extremely well.  She is raising four children. Sanctuary Kitchen is a part of CitySeed, and provides wonderful opportunities for work, and friendship for refugees who have come to the United States to start a better life in the Greater New Haven area.  Sanctuary kitchen offers catering, culinary training, and sells their food at local Farmer’s markets.  To learn more about CitySeed and Sanctuary Kitchen, please visit their website at:  https://cityseed.org/sanctuary-kitchen/
