SSILL started out the 2024 fall season by welcoming back the Central City Stompers. The SSILL membership enjoyed listening to some fun jazz tunes on the morning of September 3rd. Their sound was very upbeat and fun for all.
We have five trips scheduled in the Fall of 2024! Registration for trips is limited due to the bus capacity.
Joe Attwater from Connecticut Audubon Society will be with us on September 6th, to talk about these fascinating birds and their migratory habits as well as conservation.
The African Penguin is an endangered species, and if we are not able to make the effort to save them, they will become extinct by 2035. MaryEllen discussed the global effort underway to protect these wonderful animals.
On March 19th, SSILL welcomed Justin Hedde, Principal, Centerbrook Architects to provide SSILL members and guests a preview of the newly renovated Yale Peabody Museum. The renovation was an extraordinary project and was the first comprehensive renovation in 90 years.
The Women and Family Life Center provides legal counseling, financial counseling, assistance with career preparation, help for domestic abuse victims, and this is just to name a few of the services that they offer.
